Soundhous Experience Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Soundhous Experience platform, including its web and mobile applications (the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms are a product draft pending final legal review and may be updated before final publication.

Soundhous Experience is a lifestyle orchestration layer for home sound systems. It works with compatible Sonos speakers to automate spiritual moments, daily rituals, family celebrations, and home announcements.

Soundhous Experience is not a music streaming service, a security system, or a life-safety system.

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.

You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep it up to date.

A "Home" in Soundhous represents your physical residence and its connected speakers. You are responsible for the accuracy of your home configuration.

You may have multiple homes linked to your account. Each home's settings, schedules, and content are managed independently unless you choose to share across homes.

Soundhous Experience connects to your Sonos system via Sonos's official OAuth authorisation. Soundhous does not receive or store your Sonos password.

You authorise Soundhous to access specific Sonos household information necessary to operate the Service, such as household identifiers, player/speaker names, room/group names, and operational Favorite identifiers you select.

You can disconnect Sonos at any time. Disconnection removes Soundhous's access to your Sonos system.

Soundhous schedules and triggers playback on your connected Sonos speakers based on your configured Rituals, Moments, and Announcements.

Playback depends on your Sonos system being powered on, connected to the internet, and functioning normally. Soundhous does not guarantee that any specific playback event will occur.

You can configure Quiet Hours to suppress playback during specified times. Soundhous will attempt to respect Quiet Hours, but you are responsible for ensuring the volume and timing of playback are appropriate for your household.

Soundhous is not responsible for disputes between household members about playback choices or timing.

Soundhous offers optional spiritual features including Islamic prayer times and Christian daily devotions. These features are provided as a convenience and are not a substitute for your own spiritual practice or religious guidance.

Prayer time calculations may vary from local community schedules. You are responsible for verifying times with your local community if precision is important to you.

Rituals are recurring daily or weekly sound experiences you configure, such as a morning wake-up or dinner mood. You are responsible for ensuring the content and volume of your Rituals are appropriate.

Moments are one-time or special scheduled experiences, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations. Some Moments may use AI-generated audio, which is created based on information you provide.

AI-generated content is a creative product and may not perfectly reflect the celebrant or occasion. You are responsible for reviewing generated content before scheduling.

Announcements let you broadcast a spoken message to selected rooms in your home. You are responsible for the content of your announcements and for ensuring they are appropriate for all listeners.

You may create Family Profiles for household members to personalise their experiences. You must have a lawful basis or appropriate authority to add information about other household members.

Creating a Family Profile does not automatically create a user account for that person. Soundhous requests only information reasonably needed for household features.

You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from household members before adding their information.

You may upload audio recordings, voice messages, and other content to the Service. You retain ownership of your content and grant Soundhous a licence to process it solely to operate the Service for you.

You represent that you have the rights to any content you upload and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party.

Soundhous is not responsible for the content you upload or its consequences.

The Service integrates with Sonos and may integrate with other third-party services including payment providers, communications providers, cloud/infrastructure providers, AI/audio providers, and inventory/commerce systems.

Soundhous does not control third-party availability, performance, or terms. You are responsible for complying with third-party terms when using their services through Soundhous.

Soundhous is not liable for the acts or omissions of third-party service providers.

Soundhous offers subscription plans and trial periods. Trial terms are displayed before activation. After a trial ends, continued access requires an active subscription.

Speaker licensing determines how many speakers Soundhous can manage. You are responsible for ensuring your plan covers your speaker count.

Speakers purchased directly from Soundhous may include lifetime entitlement terms. These terms are specified at the time of purchase and are subject to the product warranty and these Terms.

Subscription fees are billed through supported payment providers. You authorise recurring charges to your payment method until you cancel.

Prices may change with reasonable notice. Price changes do not affect your current billing period.

You can grant access to your Home to trusted household members. You remain responsible for all activity under your account.

Home ownership can be transferred to another user. The transfer process is designed to protect your privacy and ensure a clean handover.

Soundhous may recommend speakers, upgrades, or features based on your home configuration. Recommendations are suggestions only and do not constitute a guarantee of compatibility or availability.

You agree not to use the Service to violate any law, infringe any right, or harm any person. You will not attempt to disrupt the Service, access unauthorised data, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

The Service is in Beta. Beta features may change, be unavailable, contain defects, or be withdrawn at any time.

Beta status does not waive your consumer statutory rights, privacy rights, or Soundhous obligations that cannot legally be excluded.

Soundhous strives to maintain the Service but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Maintenance, updates, and external factors may cause interruptions.

Soundhous owns the Service, its software, and its content. You may not copy, modify, or distribute Soundhous's intellectual property without permission.

AI-generated audio created for your Moments is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use within the Service.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable law. If a term is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue in full force.

You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Refund eligibility is determined by applicable law and the terms displayed at the time of purchase. Statutory consumer rights regarding refunds are not affected by these Terms.

Soundhous may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or applicable law. You can terminate your account at any time.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Data deletion is subject to lawful retention obligations.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Soundhous does not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.

IMPORTANT: Soundhous Experience and connected Sonos speakers are lifestyle and audio automation services. They must NOT be relied upon as emergency alarms, fire alarms, medical alerts, security alarms, evacuation systems, or life-safety notification systems. The failure, delay, or interruption of a Soundhous or Sonos playback event must not be treated as a substitute for an appropriate certified safety system.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Soundhous is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

Soundhous's total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Soundhous may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

You may be required to accept a new version of these Terms before continuing to use the Service.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Soundhous is established, as specified in the legal entity configuration. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

You may have additional rights under your local consumer protection laws.
